Somewhere between where you are and where I am is the possibility of being in two places at once. 

A pink space of labour and gloss, THIS IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT YOU is an installation that considers the state of the passenger in transit. With clusters of video, sculpture, sound and text, this work navigates systems of passage as a way to map relational experience. 

This work is a direct response to Donohoe’s residency at Sub Tropic Studio located at the Caloundra bus terminus and her three hour public transport commute to and from the studio. THIS IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT YOU draws parallels between the poetics of transit and the body as vehicle in which the 'self' is merely a passenger. 

Enabling an experiential zone for the audience, this interdisciplinary work aims to emphasise the intimate and sometimes estranged spaces between body and experience, between external terrains and internal realms. The installation is a moving world of colour, light and performance. Upon entering the space we are presented with strange intersecting joins, a venous system made from found objects that balances and is transformed by moving projection in a room of soft blush. Flowing, distorted networks of lines - both bodily and mechanised - score the gallery walls with form and movement. 

Applying an expanded choreographic approach in this layered exhibition, Donohoe intersects spatial, temporal, and corporeal relationships to offer an immersive experience.  Donohoe describes the work as 'an external space for internal choreographies'. 

THIS IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT YOU proposes that the 'self' exists as a passenger in constant transit negotiating unknown possibilities, relationships and states simultaneously.
